Amy Sloan

Biography: Amy lived on the Sandy Bay Reserve for the first year of her life. Her family then moved to Pelly Crossing, Yukon -- a small First Nations village on the road between Whitehorse and Dawson City. Following Pelly, the family lived in Watson Lake, Yukon, for twelve years, during which time Amy's brother, Gareth, was born. In 1992, the family moved to Whitehorse, where Amy attended Porter Creek Junior Secondary School (where she WAS student council president), and, subsequently, F H Collins Secondary School. After many years of school and community plays, as well as two years selling programs for a Whitehorse vaudeville show, Amy achieved her first professional acting job in The Gaslight Follies - a turn-of-the century-style review - at the historical Palace Grande Theatre in Dawson City, Yukon. After graduation from high school, Amy attended the National Theatre School in Montreal, from which she graduated in 1999.
