Early successes in her career include "Delirious" with John Candy, Oliver Stone's "Wall Street," the television series "Falcon Crest," for which she was bestowed a Soap Opera Digest award.

In 1987, she married Davod Guc. They divorced in 1990.

Her son Alec was born in 1992.
Andrea moved to to Los Angeles, where she played Talia Winters in the space science fiction TV series "Babylon 5."
In 1995 she married co-star Jerry Doyle who played Security Chief Michael Garibadi on B5. They divorced in 1997.

She left Babylon 5 to join the cast of "JAG" as Commander Krennick. The feature film "A Gun, A Car, A Blonde" followed as did a guest-star role in the HBO series "Arli$$," and a role in the feature "The Lost Valley."
She went on to portray Detective Jill Kirkendall on "NYPD Blue." This became one of her two most memorable roles besides Talia on B5. To research the role she accompanied detectives from both the Son of Sam and Zodiac murder cases. The research proved valuable, combined with her hard work and long days, and Andrea was a success on the show.

Unfortunately, she became a victim of a stalker, and in December 1998 her stalker, Italian designer Gianluigi Assenato, was sentenced to two years in prison and subsequent deportation. The event was a factor in her becoming a strong advocate for victims.

The hours on "NYPD Blue" were long and eventually Andrea announced she would be leaving the show. She wanted to spend more time with her son and pursue a journalism career. She moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico, and started as a reporter for KRQE-TV. A position followed as an anchor at CNN Headline News.

Recent work includes a role on "Medical Investigation" as Dr. Lois McCarthy, a role on "24" as Dr. Nicole Duncan, a role on "Touching Evil" as Justine Hazelton and a reprise on "JAG" as Alison Krennick. Her voice work has included the animated series "The Wild Thornberrys" playing "Zita".
