Biography:
Anne-Marie was born in 1970 in London, to Irish parents, and the youngest of three children. Her father is a painter/decorator and her mother works in a shoe shop.
Her parents encouraged her to join an acting group at 12 as they were concerned about her shyness. She attended the Drama Centre at the University of the Arts in London, and supported herself with a job as a waitress as she studied.
She went straight from the Drama Centre to the stage, before eventually breaking into Film and Television.
Anne-Marie has been married to actor James McAvoy since October 2006, and they live in London.
