Antonio Banderas

Biography: Antonio was born in Málaga, Spain on August 10th, 1960. He studied drama and performed in plays in Madrid such as Historia de los Tarantos and La hija del aire. After meeting Pedro Almoóvar, he was given a small part in the film Laberinto de pasiones (1982) and from then on he worked exclusively with Almodóvar in such films as Matador (1985) and La ley del deseo (1986).
In the early 1990s Antonio began his film career in Hollywood, with starring roles in Philadelphia with Tom Hanks (1993), Never Talk to Strangers (1994), Interview with the Vampire (1994), Evita (1996), Frida (2002), and The Legend of Zorro (2005). Antonio has also found success with using only his deep, distinctive voice and won new fans as Puss in Boots in the films Shrek 2 (2004), Shrek The Third (2007) and Shrek The Halls.

Antonio is married to actress Melanie Griffith and the couple have one daughter, Stella.
