Ben Daniels was born in Nuneaton (Warwickshire, England) on June 10, 1964. His training as an actor included three years at the London Academy of Music and Drama Arts (LAMDA).Ben is very active in the theatre life especially in the National Theatre; he has appeared in Three Sisters, Iphigenia at Aulis and All My Sons for them just to name a few. For All My Sons, he won a Laurence Olivier Theatre Award in 2001. One of his dreams has been to work on the New York stage, a dream which came true in 2008 when he starred in Les Liaisons Dangereuses on Broadway. He received a Tony nomination for the play.Openly gay Ben prefers working in his native England where he has a chance to play varied roles like womanizer Finn Bevan in Cutting It and sweet Tony in Beautiful Thing. Some of his hobbies include painting and Ashtanga yoga.
Ben has been with stage actor Ian Gelder for 16 years. They have tied the knot in a civil partnership ceremony.
