After a rocky two year stint at NBC Universal ending in July 2009, Ben Silverman is set to head a new television marketing venture financed by mogul Barry Diller.
Silverman became a prominent public figure when he was named as Co-Chairman, NBC Entertainment and NBC Universal Television Studio in May 2007. Before this, he was known in the entertainment industry as a successful and prolific producer and head of Reveille, a joint venture with Universal Production group that handles both production and distribution of several genres including comedy, drama and reality programming. He holds Executive Producer status with such popular shows as The Office, Ugly Betty, and The Biggest Loser among many others. Silverman accomplished much at The William Morris Agency (WMA), and was in fact the youngest ever department head during his tenure there. At WMA, Silverman packaged more than 25 television series and over 500 produced episodes and created an international packaging and corporate practice representing some of Europe's biggest broadcast and film media outlets.
Prior to joining William Morris, Silverman served as Vice President at New World/Marvel Entertainment, where he developed sitcoms and Marvel Comics characters as live-action projects for film and television. Additionally, he has held positions at both CBS and Warner Brothers.
