Caleb Deschanel

Biography: Joseph Caleb Deschanel was born on September 21, 1944 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. His mother was American and his father was French. He was raised with the Quaker religion. He originally wanted to become a doctor, but after 4 years at Johns Hopkins University, Deschanel set his sights to film. In 1972 he married his wife, actress Mary Jo Deschanel, and together they have 2 daughters Emily and Zooey who are both actresses. In 1994 Deschanel Co-Founded Light Dark Pictures in West Hollywood and in 2003 he became a member of the Board of Governors of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences Cinematographers Branch. Deschanel has done the filming for many movies such as: The Passion of the Christ, The Patriot, National Treasure, and The Titanic.
