Carl Gilliard

Biography: Born Carl Rousseau Gilliard, Carl was raised in Chicago, Illinois. He attended Detroit Osborn High School and graduated in 1976. Later on, he went to Michigan State University and graduated in 1980. Carl began acting at a very young age and his baritone voice eventually became his trademark. He married and divorced Rochelle Gilliard. They had two children. Carl married again to Wilda Gilliard in November 2, 2002 and they have one child together. He currently resides in Palmdale, California.

Carl is a veteran actor, director, marketer and producer. He has been featured in numerous commercials such as IBM, GM, Burger King, Pepto Bismol, Bank One, Habitat For Humanity, Nicoderm, Saturn, and Miller Beer. Carl has also appeared in over two dozen plays including The River Niger, and Zooman & The Sign. He co-produced the Pan African Audience Award winning feature Retiring Tatiana and eventually directed the drama, which won Best Feature and Director at the Arizona Black Film

He has made many appearances on the big screen as well as the small screen. He had roles in the movies Coach Carter (2005) and Red Eye (2005). His first role was on Hunter (1990) in which he played Ned Baliss. Several other TV credits include General Hospital (2002), The Bernie Mac Show (2005), and Cold Case (2005).
Carl's most recent appearance was on Private Practice (2007) in which he played Desk Seargant. The Mannsfield 12 is the movie he has lined up for 2008 in which he portrays Tulgate.
