Within two years she was a contract player on the number one soap opera in the country, "The Young and the Restless". For the next eleven years she not only stayed on "Y&R", but also performed in well over a dozen prime time television shows as a "Guest Star" performer. Most recently Chris has starred in two independent films with 1998/1999 releases, both hitting the film festival circuit at this time. One high action movie about a CIA agent that is injured in the line of duty and refuses to retire (which is earmarked for series potential). The other a "talking heads" film about a woman's fight (with the help of a mysterious man who appears in her house) to keep living among people rather than within herself.
In the midst of all this, Chris has established herself as an activist for disability rights and has been awarded for her efforts by not only knowing that she has effected millions of viewers worldwide by giving them positive images of people with disabilities, but has also been awarded by organizations such as The Governor of California's Committee on Employment and Disability (Outstanding Contribution and Exceptional Merit Awards); The Dole Foundation, Washington, D.C.; Los Angeles Project with Industry; and National Legislation Council for the Handicapped. She has been the National Spokesperson for the Rotary International Polio Plus Program, Special Consultant on Public Relations to the President's Committee on Employment of Persons with Disabilities as well as a board member and an Advisory Board member and vice-president of the Media Access Office, Los Angeles.
