David Richmond-Peck

Biography: David Richmond-Peck ***BIOGRAPHY*** David Richmond-Peck is one of Canada's busiest up-and-coming actors. Blessed with a wide and versatile range, David has come to be known for disappearing into every role and radically transforming his look for each new character. Richmond-Peck morphed into 40-something Harvey Severson for NBC's Behind The Camera: The Unauthorized Story of ‘Mork and Mindy' (airing April 2005). He will soon be starring in the new CTV dramatic series Robson Arms as Geoff McAllister, a 30-yr-old effervescent young gay man facing a life-altering disease. In Steven Spielberg's highly-anticipated mini series Into The West, David creates a brutal soldier who thinks nothing of committing brutal acts. Switching deftly between television and feature film, David recently starred opposite Ewan Bremner (Trainspotting, Black Hawk Down) in the indie feature The Zero Sum as a tortured novelist who does time for his directionless brother. Flexing again, he created a snooty art patron in the 20th Century Fox feature film Fantastic Four.

Among the palate of ne'er-do-wells is a sleazy porn producer (Showtime's hit series The L-Word), Kirstie Alley's vicious eldest son in CBS's critically acclaimed film Family Sins, a Jaffa commander on Stargate SG-1, a dim-witted hit man on Cold Squad, and an alcoholic dirty cop on Just Cause. His unique sense of comedy found its stride on Smallville when he forced Lex Luther into apoplexy in a memorable sequence involving a windshield and a baseball bat.

Born and raised in Oakville, Ontario, Richmond-Peck is a born athlete. Between gigs he can be found pushing his boundaries kite-boarding off Jericho Beach or Boundary Bay. His other interests range from snowboarding to advanced SCUBA diving, horseback riding, squash, rugby, football, and skiing. He is also an accomplished sailor, a family tradition that has seen Richmond-Peck race in several off-shore competitions (C.O.R.K.).

Richmond-Peck's passion for acting started in high school when he began to do public speaking. Although he majored in Political Science at the University of Western Ontario, Richmond-Peck was unable to shake the acting bug. He eventually found a home in Langara College's highly regarded theatre programme, Studio 58, where Richmond-Peck began accepting professional acting roles in his second year and has not looked back.

David's other passions include cooking, coffee and writing. He is currently developing several projects with his partner, director / producer Kelly-Ruth Mercier, whom he met when he starred in her UBC Thesis Theatre Production of The Bacchae. They reside in Vancouver with their two energetic dogs, JoJo and Henry.
