Demi Moore

Biography: Demi Moore was born in Roswell, New Mexico, where her father, Charles Harmon, had left her mother before Demi was born. Her mother, Victoria, then married Danny Guynes, and Demi somehow also took his surname, but her stepfather was an unstable character who gave her a hard childhood. He regularly lost or walked out of jobs and moved his family dozens of times from one apartment and neighborhood to another. Victoria and Danny fought and drank until, in the end, Danny killed himself. Demi left school at the age of sixteen to become a fashion model and also took a job as a bill collector. In 1984, when she was only eighteen, Demi married Freddy Moore, a rock musician, and they stayed together for four years. When she was nineteen, Demi joined the cast of the show General Hospital and was constantly in acting work after that. In order to play a coke addict in St Elmo's Fire (1985), she had to sign a contract agreeing to take treatment for her own drink problem and to stop sniffing cocaine. After Ghost (1990), Indecent Proposal (1993) and Disclosure (1994), Demi became one of Hollywood's leading ladies of the 1990s. Now in her 40s, her career has peaked, and there have been fewer offers lately. Demi now owns a production company called Moving Pictures. Demi was married to the actor Bruce Willis from 1989 to 2000, and they have three daughters together, Rumer (born 1988), Scout LaRue (1991) and Tallulah Belle (1994).
