Diablo Cody went from being a blogger to one of the hottest writers in Hollywood by way of being a stripper in Minneapolis, MN.
Born Brooke Busey, Diablo found herself unappreciated in office jobs when she took up pole dancing part-time, on a whim. She admits she was no good at it, but her blogging about it proved to be her salvation. Diablo was discovered by an agent who encouraged her to write a novel: "Candy Girl: A Year in the Life of an Unlikely Stripper" which came out in 2005.
Diablo next wrote the screenplay for Juno, the unexpected indie hit of 2007, earning her numerous awards including an Oscar for Best Original Screenplay. Diablo lives in Los Angeles with several film and television projects in various stages of production.
