Biography: Erica grew up in Ossining, NY. She is the daughter of "US Weekly" executive editor Charlie Leerhsen, and she has two sisters : Nora and Debbie. She attended St. Augustines School and sang in a choir. She later went to Ossining High School. Leerhsen left Ossining to Boston University where she went to do theatre. She Graduated in 1998. She landed an agent soon after graduating. Erica did some off-broadway theater. In 1999 she left NY for LA to pursue a acting career. She found herself waiting tables while auditioning for TV and Film roles. Her big break came in early 2000 when she landed her first film role in the sequel to one of the most successful horror movies in history....Blair Witch 2. Erica originally auditioned for the role as Kim. Director Joe Berlinger was impressed by Leerhsens audition but eventually gave her the supporting role of the Wiccan, Erica. After Blair Witch 2s release, Erica landed a job on TVs 'The Guardian' playing Amanda Bowles for one year. Leerhsen had guest apperances on HBOs 'The Sopranos'. She later found small roles in 'Hollywood Ending' (2002) and 'Anything Else' (2003). In 2002, Erica landed a leading role in the horror remake 'The Texas Chainsaw Massacre'. She was the first person to be cast in the movie. Filming took place over the hot Summer of 2002 in Austin , TX. The film was released in October of 2003 and became Erica s most successful film to date grossing 80,000,000 million at the US Box Office. A month later in November 2003 she had a guest role on the popular TV show 'Alias'.
