Frances O'Connor

Biography: Frances O'Connor was born in Oxfordshire, England to a nuclear physicist father and a pianist mother. Her family moved to Perth, Australia when she was two years old. Frances was raised a Roman Catholic. Although she attended the Mercedes College in Perth, she considers Melbourne her home. Frances also attended the Western Academy of Performing Arts, and earned a BA in literature from the Curtin University of Technology in Western Australia.

Frances made her screen debut on the Australian television series Law of the Land. After making herself a big name in Australian television, she achieved her breakthrough role as a fugitive in the 1997 crime thriller, Kiss or Kill. This is the film that brought her international attention that eventually led to roles in movies such as Mansfield Park and Madame Bovary. Currently, she is making headlines as a star of the ABC television series Cashmere Mafia
