Philip and Daniel D'or then developed and produced Carver's Gate (aka Dreambreaker) in 1995 with Michael Pare (qv). This cyber-space trip preceded a lot of larger budget films that still develop themes and effects effectively exploited in this picture. Carver's Gate opened the first "Midnight Madness" schedule of the Atlantic Film Festival. Philip produced and co-wrote the best-selling sci-fi feature, The Cusp (aka Falling Fire aka Three Minutes to Impact) The Cusp, or Falling Fire as it is more commonly know was the directorial debut by Daniel D'or and stared Michael Pare. Critics often site Falling Fire as a successful lower cost imitator of Deep Impact and Armageddon when in fact production was completed on Falling Fire in early1996 before the production of Deep Impact, let alone Armageddon.
Philip Jackson then developed and directed 2103 The Deadly Wake, starring Malcolm McDowell and Michael Pare, Hidie von Paleske (qv).

In part of a push to show that they weren't only "the sci-fi guys" Philip Jackson and Daniel D'or co-produced the comedy Wish You Were Dead (Mary Steinbergen, Cary Elweys, Christopher Lloyd, Billy Ray Cyrus), distributed by Mel Gibsons' Icon Films.
In the same period they Produced Men of Means (with Austin Pendleton, Michael Pare), The Pawn (Greg Evigan, Tony Lo Bianco Sydney Penny), they also showed their support for new film-makers producing the inde pic Drop Dead Roses staring Brian O'Halloran of Clerks and many others outside the genre.
Philip is adept at integrating the financial design of an intended production with its creative approach and market goals.
Prior to the creation of Spaceworks, Philip Jackson produced and directed some 40 TV documentaries and a number of art house pictures –including many award winning titles- that sold world-wide. He was the owner-manager of the distributor Lightscape International until he sold it in 1990 to concentrate on development and production.
In his earliest years Philip was a TV writer for CBC's children's programming including his first professional gig, episodic writing on the Mr. Dressup Show. Philip also worked as a film editor for many years. Philip earned an Honours BA from York University, (Toronto) at the Film Department, graduating in 1978.

Philip is President of Production and Development. He is currently working on the up-coming sci-fi series YEAR ZERO and is heading up development on "THE MADAM OF GANYMEDE" (a SpaceWorks / Lee Wynne co-production) and the sci-fi series FatMan at Lightspeed.
