Gabor Csupo

Biography: Gabor Csupo is CO-Creator & executive producer of some of the most Successful animated shows in the world. Bron in Budapest Hungary, Gabor learned the craft of Animation at Hunhary's famed pannonia Studio. In 1975, he fled his homeland to escape Communist rule by walking for 2.5 hours through a darkened railway tunnel to Austria and his first taste of freedom.
He made his way to Stockholm where he helped produce Sweden's first animated feature. While in Stockholm, he met graphic designer ARLENE KLASKY. The couple relocated to Los Angeles California and formed Klasky & Csupo, Inc. In late 1981 in the spare room of their apartment. Over the next six years Cuspo presided over the studio designing, supervising or personally animating a variety of animated commercials, company logos, TV station promos, motion picture trailers, network on-air promotions and industrial films. He & partner Arlene moved the company into its first real studio environment on seward street in 1983,
expanding into motion graphics and live action productions. In 1988. Gracie Films' Academy Award-winning owner James L. Brooks awarded the company the job of animating Matt Groening's The Simpsons"for Fox broadcasting's the Tracy Ullman Show, Subsequently, Klasky Cuspo, Inc. animated a half-hour series garnering the world-wide recognition and Emmy Awards for Outstanding Prime Time Animated Series two years in a row. Csupo's desire to create a cutting-edge animated programming in turn led him and his associates to create a unique look at the contemporary life as seen through the eyes of toddlers. This lead to the hit series "Rugrats", which Csupo Co-Created with Arlene Klasky and Paul Germain which became the highest rated series in Nickelodeon's history and the most successful independently produced animated movie of all time. Csupo worked closely with Klasky and writer/producers Jeff Reno and Ron Osborn of Paramount Television in the development and production of the animated prime time television serues based on the underground comic book Duckman", created by artist Everett Peck. Debuting in March of 1994, the series garnered a mass of critical attenion as well as 2 cable Ace Awards. Csupo was also responsible for the creation of "AAAHH!!! Real monsters" which debuted on Nickelodeon on Halloween of 1994. Other Ventures Csupo has launched at the studio are two record labels TONE CASUALTIES and CASUAL TONALITIES, CLASS-KEY CHEW-PO COMMERCIALS and Klasky Csupo Publishing. In addition in 1997 he opened an art gallery/bistro called Lumpy Gravy which is named in homage to the late Frank Zappa.
