Glen Campbell

Biography: A native of Delight, Arkansas, Glen Campbell started out early in music. When he was four, his father bought Glen a five-dollar Sears Roebuck guitar, and within two years Campbell was an accomplished picker. By the age of 14, Glen left home to pursue music full-time. He started with a three piece band led by his uncle, Dick Bills, in Albuquerque, New Mexico, later touring the Southwest with his own band. At 24, Campbell moved to Los Angeles, where he quickly found studio work as a guitarist playing on records for such artists as Frank Sinatra, Nat King Cole, merle Haggard and Elvis Presley. He even toured as a member of the Beach Boys. In 1961 he released a single on a regional label that caused Capital Records to sign him as an artist.

Campbell began his career in 1962 as a member of the Green River Boys. Featuring Glen Campbell with the release of the modest hit, "Turn Around Look At Me." Three years later as a solo artist, Campbell made it to the Top 50 carts with
"Universal Soldier." followed by "Gentle On My Mind" in 1967. Over the next three years he had twelve singles climb the country and pop charts among them "Hey Little One," "Wichita Lineman." He made transition from recording artist to actor quite successfully. He starred in "True Grit" with John Wayne, "Norwood" with Joe Namath, and also made a made for TV movie "Strange Homecoming." His first TV series "The Glen Campbell Goodtime Hour" ran for three seasons and was followed in the 80's by "The Glen Campbell Music Show."

Glen currently resides in Phoenix, Arizona with his wife Kim and their three children, Cal, Shannon and Ashley.
