Jackie Earle Haley

Biography: Short and skinny, big eyebrows, prominent Adam's Apple, Jackie Earle Haley was born July 14, 1961 in Northridge, North Carolina. One of his first major roles that came at 13 was as a voiceover in the 70's cartoon "Land of the Dinosaurs". He also did numerous other voice-over work in the early 70's. The role he most remembered for today is as the cigarette smoking, motorcycle riding loner, rebel-without-a-cause Kelly Leak in 1976 classic "Bad News Bears". Jackie also appeared in the sequels taking the lead role in "Bad News Bears in Breaking Training" and being one of few "Bears" to return in "Bad News Bears Go to Japan". A year after his Kelly Leak days ended, Jackie earned another role he is also remembered for as Moocher in 1979's Oscar winning film "Breaking Away". He later went on to reprise his role in the short-lived TV series of the film a year later. In 1983, he played the sex-obsessed Dave in "Losin' It" co-starring a then unknown Tom Cruise. Recently, Jackie's made a comeback as a successful commercial producer for Shootz productions. He will also star in two upcoming Kate Winslett films, "All the Kings Men" and the book- adapted "Little Children".… Expand
