Biography:
James grew up in Baltimore, Maryland where his father was a land surveyor. He has appeared in numerous TV and film roles. His breakout TV role was in The Wire as Ziggy Sobotka in 2003. He has also appeared in the films, A Dirty Shame and Inside Man.
He had a serious heroin addiction in his 20s, but has worked to maintain his sobriety. He lives in New York City.
