Jared Martin

Biography: Jared Martin was born on December 21, 1943, in Manhattan, New York to Charles and Florence Martin. Charles Martin was a cover artist for "The New Yorker", so the arts were always an important part of the Martin household as Jared was growing up. As a youngster, Jared was given the choice of learning to piano or entering an actor's program for children, and he chose the acting program. This decision led to a life long involvement with the arts. Jared, later attended private school in Vermont and graduated from Columbia University in 1965. He married Nancy Fales in 1963 and they became the parents of a son Christian in 1967. This marriage lasted until 1977. Mr.Martin's career on stage began with his work with a Boston Shakespearian company, where he appeared in a number of plays by "The Bard". Next, came his first screen appearance in the film, "Murder a`la Mod, a low budget stinker, in 1968, in the role of Christopher. During the 1970s, Jared Martin was seen on the small screen in the short-lived series, "The Fantastic Journey" and in the role that defined his career, as Dusty Farlow, the love interest of Suellen Ewing, on "Dallas". Mr. Martin then appeared as Dr.Harrison Blackwood on the series, "The War Of The Worlds" from 1988-1990. A role on a soap opera followed this until Mr. Martin's last guest starring appearance in a 1994 episode of "L.A. Law". Today, Jared Martin directs independent projects and teaches acting classes at The University The Arts in Philadelphia. On the personal front, he was married a second time to Carol Vogel, and a third time to Yu Wei in 2000. Expand
