Biography: Jay Laga’aia was born to Samoan parents in Auckland, New Zealand, on September 10, 1963. An avid fan of sport, especially rugby’s All Blacks, Jay first wanted to be a rugby player; but being a performer at heart he instead pursued acting and has since become one of the more recognisable faces to come out of New Zealand. Over the last 20 years he has had a varied and successful career in television, radio, movies and theatre. Jay has duel citizenship in Australia and New Zealand so he can pursue his career on both shores.
