Jon Bon Jovi

Biography: Jon Bon Jovi began as a kid from New Jersey with a dream to be a rock star and has succeeded beyond his wildest dreams. He has a stable family, married to his high school sweetheart with 4 children. He has many titles in his professional life: Musician, Rock Star, Actor, CEO, Philanthropist, and Co-owner of an AFL team. He has never lost touch with his roots and is a thoughtful, self-aware global celebrity.

Jon Bon Jovi was born John Francis Bongiovi in Perth Amboy to Carol and John Bongiovi. Jon stands about 5'9" has light brown hair, green/blue eyes, and goes by the nickname "Johnny". He has 3 tattoos, the famous Superman tattoo on his upper left arm. He also has a steer's head on his right upper arm, and one on his ankle.

His mother was one of the first playboy bunnies and his father was a Coiffeur/hair stylist. Both of his parents were in the Marine Corp. He has two brothers, Anthony and Matt. He attended War Memorial High School in Sayreville, New Jersey. He changed
the spelling of both his first and last name at the suggestion of the record companies. Jon married his high school sweetheart, Dorothea Hurley on April 29, 1989 at the Graceland Chapel in Las Vegas. The have four children; Stephanie Rose (05-31-1993), Jessie James (02-19-95), Jacob Hurley (05-07-02) and Romeo Jon (3-29-04). They are currently living in New Jersey. Jon reports that his influences are Bruce Springsteen, Bob Dylan, Aerosmith, Side Johnny, Alice Cooper, and Thin Lizzy. His is able to play several musical instruments including the guitar, keyboards, and harmonica. In 1983, Jon was working for a recording studio as a gofer and at night was recording his own songs. One of these songs, Runaway became a hit without an established band. Jon put together a band and began working on Bon Jovi's self-named 1st album. From 1984 through 1989, the band had toured the world several times and released 4 albums: Bon Jovi, 7800 Fahrenheit, Slippery When Wet, and New Jersey. In 1990, Jon released his own album, Blaze of Glory, inspired by the film, Young Guns II, in which he had a small-uncredited role. The title track was a #1 hit and he received both a Grammy and an Oscar nomination for the song and won a Golden Globe for Song from a Motion Picture. In 1991, he fired the band's management, business advisors, and agents and took over the management of the band himself. He formed Bon Jovi Management and re-grouped the band. In 1992, Keep the Faith was released and Jon cut his trademark hair, a fact, which was carried by CNN. Crossroads was released in 1993 and These Days in 1995. Since 1995, Jon has been working on his acting career. He played the painter in Moonlight and Valentino, Robin Grande in The Leading Man, and Kevin in Little City. In 1997, Jon released his 2nd solo album, Destination Anywhere and played Jon in the movie Destination Anywhere. Jon guest starred on Sex in the City as Seth in the episode, 'Games People Play' in 1999. In Homegrown, he played Danny. And Michael in No Looking Back. In 2000, he was in 3 movies, Row your Boat (Jamie Meadows), U-571 (Lt. Pete Emmett), and a small role in Pay it Forward (Ricky McKinney). In 2000, the band went back to the studios and released Crush. One Wild Night was released in 2001 and Bounce was released in 2002. In 2002, he was in Vampires: Los Muertos as Derek Bliss. He also guest starred in a 9 episode arc on Ally McBeal as Victor Morrison. This Left Feels Right was released in 2003. 100,000,000 Bon Jovi Fans Can't Be Wrong in 2004. Have A Nice Day in 2005. And Lost Highway in 2007. Jon became an owner of the Philadelphia Soul an arena football team in 2003. He was in Cry Wolf as Rich Walker in 2005. In 2006, he was in National Lampoon's Pucked (formerly The Trouble with Frank) as Frank. In 2006, Jon appeared as himself in an episode of The West Wing. The episode was called 'Welcome to Wherever You Are.' Which is the name of a song from Bon Jovi's Have A Nice Day album. Jon is an active and outspoken member of the Democratic Party and campaigned heavily in 2000 and 2004 for their candidates. He refers to Al Gore as a friend and has stated that he is a very intelligent man. Jon is very active in many charities. Some of those charities are the Special Olympics, Habitat for Humanity, American Red Cross, and the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatrics AIDS Foundation. Jon states that he enjoys watching movies and football, playing baseball, and spending time with his family. He is most comfortable wearing casual clothing, especially jeans.
