Kathy Maisnik

Biography: Kathy Maisnik's career has brushed acting and singing, including a starring role in the short-lived 1982 series, Star of the Family, which ran from September through December 1982. Maisnik played Jennie Lee Krebs, a 16-year-old who was embarking on a pop/country singing career to the chagrin of her fire captain father, Buddy Krebs (played by Brian Dennehy). Buddy was excited for Jennie Lee but was worried about the toll a singing career may take on his "little girl." The show centered on the household of the Krebs, with Jennie Lee's brother, Douggie, and manager, Judy "Moose" Wells, sharing screen time. The other main set was Buddy's fire house, featuring a nucklehead of characters. Although the show was cancelled, Maisnik was nominated for Best Young Actress in a New Television Series at the Fourth Annual Young Artist Awards. It was during her time on the series that she participated with the ABC team on Battle of the Network Stars XIII, broadcast Oct. 1, 1982.
