Kelly Preston

Biography: Kelly Preston, born and raised in Hawaii, except for 15 months when she was 5, she lived in Iraq. Her father was working with the minister of agriculture to improve Iraq's farming conditions. She went on to graduate from Punahou School in Honolulu, Hawaii. When Kelly was 16, she was discovered by a fashion photographer, he helped her get work in commercials and he set up an audition for the Brooke Shields' role in The Blue Lagoon (1980). She didn't get the part, because she was consider too sultry. Kelly went on to study drama at the University of Southern California and the University of California. Kelly made her first television appearance guest starring on "Hawaii Five-O" in 1982. Since then she has made numerous guest appearances on such series as "CHiPs"(1983), "Riptide"(1984), "Tales from the Crypt" (1990), "The Rosie O'Donnell Show: (1997-05-23)", "The Montel Williams Show: (2003-03-12)" , "The Oprah Winfrey Show: (2003-10-24)", "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno: (2003-11-24)", "Joey"(2004), etc. just to name a few. Kelly has also made numerous films for television and the big screen such as Top Gun with Tom Cruise.

Kelly's stint on the daytime soap "Capitol" as Gillian McCandless (1982)was her only soap role.

Kelly is the co-star in the made for tv(CMT) movie "Broken Bridges" (2006) with Toby Keith.

Kelly is married to actor John Travolta and they have 2 children. The couple are Scientologists. … Expand
