Lauren Koslow

Biography: Lauren Koslow portrays the ambitious and vindictive Kate Roberts on Days Of Our Lives.

While a theatre arts student at Virginia State University, Lauren was a design student who was equally adept at creating costumes and characters. She eventually earned her degree, (after first attending the University of Massachusetts) specialising in costume design. After graduating, Lauren joined a summer-stock theatre group in Virginia, where she doubled as a costume designer and an actress.

Acting soon won out for Lauren's time and energies. She appeared in regional productions, including Cat On a Hot Tin Roof, Dial M for Murder and The Importance of Being Earnest. She also performed in the Atlanta Shakespeare Festival productions of Two Gentlemen of Verona and Moliere's Tartuffe. Following that, Lauren moved to Los Angeles to pursue a television career and landed roles on such programs as NBC's The Nanny and The A-Team, as well as Mickey Spillane's Mike Hammer, Spies with George Hamilton and House Calls.

Before Lauren joined the cast of Days Of Our Lives as Kate Roberts in January 1996, she was already well known to daytime audiences for her roles as Lindsay Wells on The Young and the Restless (1984-86) and Margo Lynley on The Bold and the Beautiful (1987-92).

Lauren, a native of Boston, is married to makeup artist Nick Schillace, and they have two children, Zachariah and Millikate. She enjoys travelling, painting and taking care of her pets, which include three dogs, a cat, a bird with an attitude, two lizards, chickens, two pet rats, three horses and a pony.
