Lennie James

Biography: Lennie James was born in South London to Trinidadian parents. His mother, Phyllis Mary James, died when he was 12. Lennie and his older brother went into a council children’s home. When he was 16 he was fostered with a social worker who had two older children, and they remain very close. Within a year Lennie began writing plays (Storm Damage was broadcast by the BBC in 2000 and won a Royal Television Society (RTS) award in 2001).
Lennie received his training at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama from which he graduated in 1988. Lennie has become a highly respected actor in movies (including: “Elephant Juice", "Lost in Space", "Les Miserables", "Among Giants", ."Snatch", "The Martins”, "Lucky Break”, "24 Hour Party People" and "Sahara"), TV (including: : "Born With Two Mothers", "Frances Tuesday", "Family Business", "Without You" and "Buried". "Undercover Heart" "Cold Feet", "Out of the Blue", "Comics", "A Touch of Frost", "Civvies" and the recent BBC America broadcast

Upcoming releases of his work: British miniseries “State Within”, scheduled to air in the UK November 2006 and the vigilante drama “Outlaw”, also starring Sean Bean, Bob Hoskins and Danny Dyer, scheduled for release in 2007.
