Lili Taylor

Biography: Lily Taylor is a recognized American actress specially for her work in Independent movies for which she has been repeatedly awarded. The awards she has won over the years include Best Actress in the Copenhagen International Film Festival, Best Supporting Female in the Independent Spirit Awards, Best Ensemble Cast in the Venice Film Festival, 2 Emmy nominations and many others. She is known to the great public for her work in the critic acclaimed TV show Six Feet Under.

She was born in Glencoe Illinois and grew up there together with her 2 brothers and 3 sisters. She graduated from New Trier High School and attended Goodman Theatre School of DePaul University, Chicago. She left the school after a year because they would not allow their students to take paying acting jobs while in school.

After leaving college she was a member of Naked Angels in New York City and then formed her own theater company, Machine Full. The first of a very long list of movies she has been on is Mystic Pizza. She is known for chosing carefully her roles and paying special attention to the director in the movies she has been involved.
