Lyndsy Fonseca

Biography: Most recognized on primetime television as Dylan Mayfair, a resident of Wisteria lane, on Desperate Housewives and the Daughter who appears during the first few seconds in episodes of How I Met Your Mother, Lyndsy Fonseca possesses an acting resume that would leave any upcoming TV actor ten years her senior in awe and envy. Since this California native made her television debut in 2001, she has continuously landed roles on numerous television shows including her three-year stint on the daytime soap The Young and the Restless. Lyndsy, raised in Alameda and Moraga, California, was discovered after placing third in the International Modeling & Talent Association Young Miss Dancer of the Year competition and second in the Miss Barbizon Young Miss Talent of the Year.

When she was just 13, her family moved to Los Angeles after she booked her first television role as the teen version of Colleen Carlton, who lived with her father at the Carlton Manor, on the soap opera The Young and
the Restless. Her three-year contract ended as her character moved back to live with her mother in New York. During that time, Lyndsy also played Jenn Cardell, a student at Winslow High School, on the FOX ensemble drama Boston Public and had guest appearances on Malcolm in the Middle and NYPD Blue. In the years that followed, Fonseca would appear in several made-for-TV movies and television series including the popular primetime shows CSI, House, and Heroes, where she was supposed to have a recurring character if not for a previous commitment to another hit show, Desperate Housewives.

Leaving daytime television in 2005 only led to bigger opportunities as she was cast the same year as the future daughter of Ted Mosby (Josh Radnor) on the CBS sitcom How I Met Your Mother, where her scenes only involved her sitting on a couch beside her brother listening to their father's rambling. In 2006, she was introduced as Donna, the frisky fastfood outlet co-worker of Sarah Henrickson (Amanda Seyfried), on HBO's Big Love. At the start of Desperate Housewives fourth season (2007), Fonseca settled in Wisteria lane as a member of the mysterious Mayfair family who moved back into the neighborhood after twelve years of being away. In between television projects, she was also able to squeeze in the filming of the 2007 dramedy The Beautiful Ordinary which featured Amber Heard and TV stars Moira Kelly (One Tree Hill) and Leighton Meester (Gossip Girl).
