Madelyn Pugh Davis

Biography: With her writing partner Bob Carroll, Jr., she was instrumental in creating the classic I Love Lucy. In addition to writing the bulk of that show's episodes, the two went on to work on The Lucy-Desi Comedy Hour, The Lucy Show, Here's Lucy, and Life With Lucy. The pair were nominated for 3 Emmy Awards for their Lucy work (in 1956, 1957, and 1971), won the 1979 Golden Globe award as producers for Alice, received the Television Academy Hall of Fame award in 1990, the Writers' Guild of America "Paddy Chayefsky Laurel Award" for Television Achievement in 1992, just to name a few. A pioneer among women writers, she released her memoirs (with Carroll) Laughing With Lucy in 1995. She has been married twice: to producer Quinn Martin with whom she had a son , and later to Dr. Richard M. Davis.
