Michael Ealy

Biography: Michael is a great young actor in his 20's.He did a lot of shows while being in NYC.Michael has been in several plays such as the Off Broadway hit Joe Fearless (Atlantic Theatre Company), Whoa-Jack (Tribeca Playhouse), the undiscovered hit Mentalk and the 2001 AUDELCO nominated Reality (both by Tupu Kweli Theatre Company). When he moved to LA he began to do appear on tv shows, commercials, and movies. Ealy is proud of the family atmosphere "Barbershop" creates onscreen, and he's even happier that the close feeling among the actors and crew continued on after cameras stopped rolling. "We fought like a family, we laughed like a family, and we celebrated like a family," Ealy recalled. "I remember when we were working on the movie, Eve won a Grammy for 'Let Me Blow Your Mind,' which was her duet with Gwen Stefani. "When she flew back to the set the next day there was a big card that everybody had signed, and we took her out for a party later on the night. We wanted to let her know that she was definitely loved and supported from the cast. I think that meant a lot to her."

Of course, every family has a head of the household, and Ealy was happy that this particular one was under the guidance of such gifted entertainers as Ice Cube and Cedric the Entertainer.

"These are the people we used to watch on TV and the big screen in high school and college," Ealy explained. "We were moved by their work then, so to actually find yourself in a project with them years later is exhilarating."
