Ned Glass

Biography: Ned Glass was born in Poland, but moved to New York by the time he was a teenager. He began working in vaudeville and theater in the 1930s, and made the transition to films in 1938. He was blacklisted during the McCarthyism era of the 1950s, but kept working in small roles thanks to the help of powerful show business friends. Unfortunately, in 1954 his wife, Kathryn "Kitty" McHugh, committed suicide. He later married actress Jhean Burton, but they divorced. By the 1960s his reputation in show business was restored and he began taking larger parts in movies, and guest starring roles in television. In 1972 Glass was nominated for an Emmy Award for his portrayal of Uncle Moe in Bridget Loves Bernie.
