Biography: The Honourable Nigel Havers (to give him the full fig) is the son of the late Lord Havers, Lord Chancellor of England in Margaret Thatcher's goverment, and of Carol Elizabeth Hughesdon. His parents divorced when he was a child. Nigel's brother, Philip Havers, Q.C., is a London barrister and was appointed as a deputy High Court judge in 2002.Others in Nigel's family went to Eton, but he seems somehow to have escaped that. After school, he attended the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London and was almost at once in demand as a leading man.Nigel has been married twice, to Carolyn Cox (1974-89) and to Polly Bloomfield (since 1989).
