Biography: The pop group *NSYNC formed in Orlando, Florida. They got the name from lead singer Justin Timberlake's mother. She had the idea to take the last letter of their first name and put it together. They had to fudge Lance's name a bit, since he replaced an original member of the band (Jason). For the first couple years they told fans that his name was short for "Lansten" to get the second "N." Their last new album was "Celebrity" in 2001, but they also released a "Greatest Hits" album. Justin went on to solo fame with his album "Justified." They have gotten together several times over the last few years for various events, including a charity basketball game in 2005. The five members of the band were Justin Timberlake, J.C. Chasez, Joey Fatone, Lance Bass, and Chris Kirkpatrick.
