Paul F. Tompkins

Biography: Paul F. Tompkins, born September 12, 1968, began his stand-up career in 1986 at The Comedy Works in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. After dropping out of Temple University in 1994, he moved to Los Angeles. He was one of the main actors on the hit HBO show "Mr. Show with Bob and David," and served as a staff writer for the show's second and third seasons. In 1998 he was nominated for an Emmy for Outstanding Writing for a Variety or Music Program for "Mr. Show with Bob and David." During the first season of "Real Time with Bill Maher," he had his own segment, and was nominated for a Writers' Guild of America Award for Comedy/Variety Series for his work on the show. He is currently a commentator on VH1's "Best Week Ever."
