Rachel Miner

Biography: Raised in Manhattan and descending from a family of actors, Rachel Miner has been acting professionally since she was eight. Even at two years of age, Rachel was already asking her parents if she could become an actress. As a child, she trained under renowned child acting coach Karen Leigh Anthony. At nine, she played the young Mia Farrow in Woody Allen's Alice, then spent nearly five years as Guiding Light's Michelle Bauer, which garnered her a few awards and a Daytime Emmy nomination. In Shining Time Station's holiday special "Tis a Gift" she played a little girl looking for Santa, played by Lloyd Bridges.

While attending Professional Children's School, she became engaged to schoolmate and famous child actor Macaulay Culkin. During the 1997 Broadway run of The Diary of Anne Frank, in which she played Margot Frank, the two were quietly married at age seventeen. Two years later, they separated and were subsequently divorced. After performing in various stage productions in
New York, Chicago, and Los Angeles theaters throughout the early 2000s, Miner flew to London in 2004 to film her seven-episode stint on the British romantic drama NY-LON as the wild, party girl Astrid. She then flew back to the US and appeared in more than a dozen films from 2005-2007.

On US television, Rachel had guest appearances in several primetime shows including Bones, Medium, CSI, Without a Trace, and Fear Itself. In 2007, she landed her most major television role by far as Dani California, the seductive and sexually-charged assistant of Charlie Runkle (played by Evan Handler) on Californication. One of her most memorable moments on the show was her almost-threesome with her boss Charlie and his wife. In 2009, Miner was the female lead in the thriller drama The Butterfly Effect 3: Revelations starring opposite Chris Carmack. She also replaced Nicki Aycox as Meg Masters in the fifth season of the CW series Supernatural.
