Richard Lee Sung

Biography: Born Richard Lee Hope Tunisia Sung III in Tsushima, North Korea, Richard Lee Sung had a troubled and disturbing childhood. At the age of 12 his mother revealed to him that she was in fact a man and that his real mother was a Chinese gypsy his father (previously mother) had met whilst holiday in China. This revelation seemingly has nothing to do with his acting career, however Sung has attributed his unique method ability for acting. To counsel himself with the gender identity of his mother he took up impressionist acting at his local TAFE to ease the burden. He soon found an amazing ability for acting, and as they say, the rest is history! Launching himself in an episode of M*A*S*H* in 1981. This marked the start of a truely brilliant career in bit-part acting. It was his method acting that really helped him move into the parts of the many and various characters he has played.
"Those who don't relinquish victory from the jaws of corporate philantropists are weak," says Sung of
his career, "and I think metaphysically that statement epitomises my entire life." Profound words indeed, and they are quite true.
Above all others in his feild, Sung has taken the somewhat avaerage career of bit-parting and truely embraced it. Spatial and concrete poetry is the new medium!
