Do you get scared?
After doing Most Haunted, I'm quite happy to dive in straightaway, head first. I do scream occasionally (as people know) and some things freak me out, but I keep on going.

There was one weird thing that happened during the very first show at Chillingham Castle. Just before the night vigils, I sort of got taken over. We were on the top hallway, which is supposedly haunted by the ghost of lady searching for her husband. The story goes that shortly after their marriage he ran off with her sister.
He apparently had a goatie beard like I had at the time and when I was up there my whole body started tingling, I felt really sick and my eyes went blood red and I said something to Yvette in a really strange voice - something like ‘Help me!'. I then collapsed on the floor. Fortunately, Derek had just arrived and sorted the situation out.

Have you ever seen a ghost?
I've seen a few things - actually before I started doing Most Haunted and during the filming of the show. And apparently I'm a very open, receptive person which is why things do happen around me. As is Karl. So when me and Karl go off, it's interesting. And we'll do anything to see what we can get. I want to see a full manifestation. I've seen orbs in series one and two and even a set of legs. But never the full monty!

Would you go off on your own?
I'm waiting for the right location for me to go off on my own like Stu did at the Station Hotel - somewhere extremely eerie, somewhere extremely haunted, somewhere possibly where there has been poltergeist activity. I really want to go for the big hardcore one.

You have your own particular way of trying to get ghosts to make contact.... Me and Karl like trying to antagonise the ghosts into action. Some people say that it's wrong to do this, but everyone in the group is constantly saying the same thing - ‘Is there anyone there?' And it doesn't happen. Me and Karl have been in various places where we've started antagonising ghosts and we've had great results. I don't think there's anything wrong with it. Some of the people that Derek picks up on have been really nasty people during their lives and I see it as talking to somebody in the same way as they would. You get a response from someone on the same wavelength.

I just seem to have this thing with Karl - we go at it full heartedly. If there's a hole to go down, we'll be there. We'll do things the rest of the crew wouldn't. And Derek thinks it's quite interesting because we are open and seem to attract spirits.

What's it like being a cameraman on the crew?
It's a fantastic show to do, but it's very long hours. And you're in front of the camera as well as behind it too. There are places where you can't seen anything in the dark, you're walking backwards and you've got a medium who is seeing all sorts of things around you, so it can be stressful, but it's all good fun.

What do you think about seances?
I'm not a big fan. I've done so many seances now, I'm actually bored of them. I don't mind getting together in small groups of three or four people, but I'm not into the big seances with every single crew member. I don't think you get the same results.

I think with a small group holding hands and relaxing, you do it more seriously. I think that there are sceptics among the crew and they may not be completely up for it.
