Russell Hornsby

Biography: Bright and articulate, the Oakland, California born and raised aspiring thespian took the advice of his high school drama teacher, who suggested Russell attend Boston University's well respected theatre arts program. Upon graduation, Russell studied with the British Academy of Dramatic Arts at Oxford University. Having further expanded his acting repertoire, Russell then moved to New York City, performing in leading roles in productions such as "To Kill A Mockingbird", "Joe Louis Blues", and "Six Degrees of Separation". He then made his debut on the Off-Broadway stage playing the character of Young Blood in August Wilson's "Jitney".
Following theater, Russell made a successful move into both television and film, landing series regular roles in "Haunted" as Detective Marcus Bradshaw and "Gideon's Crossing" Chief Resident Dr. Aaron Boise; as well as lead roles in the films "Big Fat Liar" and "Keep the Faith," a television movie for the Showtime network.

Aside from acting, Russell is very athletic and participates in various outdoor activities. Currently unmarried, Russell resides in Los Angeles, California.
