Once his comedic talent was recognized he was moved into the SNL writing staff. Eventually this lead to a job with the Late Show With David Letterman, where he worked for five years, earning five Emmy nominations. In 1995, Spike started to write for the Seinfeld series where he wrote for three seasons. During this time he earned three Emmy nominations, including one for his well-known "Soup Nazi" episode. In addition, Spike has written for other television comedy shows such as Space Ghost Coast to Coast and The Jamie Kennedy Experiment. More recently he and Jerry Seinfeld co-write the screenplay for The Bee Movie scheduled to be released by Dream Works Animation in fall 2007.
