Stuart Wilson

Biography: Stuart Wilson was born in Guildford, Surrey in England on December 25th 1946. He went to thirteen different schools, as his father worked in the RAF and travelled around the world. After the RAF his father worked as an engineer in the copper mines in Rhodesia (Zimbabwe).

Stuart moved to London in the mid Sixties and trained at RADA. After RADA he began working in repertory in Liverpool and at the RSC. His career took off when he played Johann Strauss, Jr in "The Strauss Family" in which his character aged from 14 to 74. He continued to have a successful television career playing various roles including Vronsky in the BBC's 1977 adaptation of Tolstoy's "Anna Karenina" and Major Jimmy Clark in the 1984 mini series "The Jewel in the Crown". In the late 1980's Stuart met and married American producer Courtney and they had a daughter Miranda. He moved to Hollywood where he landed roles in Martin Scorcese's The Age of Innocence (1993), Lethal Weapon 3 (1992) and

Stuart Wilson occasionally returns to the London stage. In the mid 90's he starred in Chekhov's The Three Sisters with Vanessa Redgrave.

In 2002 he played Antony to Sinead Cusack's Cleopatra in the RSC's production of "Antony and Cleopatra", both in Stratford upon Avon and in London at the Theatre Royal Haymarket.

Stuart continues to star in films both on TV and in the cinema.
