Terry Jones

Biography: Terry was born in 1942 in Colwyn Bay, Wales. His father was Welsh and his mother was from Bolton. He has an older brother, Nigel. He attended the Royal Grammar School in Guildford, where he was captain of the Rugby team. He then went to Oxford University to study Modern History. Here he met future comedy writing partner Michael Palin.
He started working for Anglia Television before moving into Light Entertainment, and working on The Frost Report. He then went on to work closely with Michael Palin, and was a founding member of the comedy team, Monty Python.
Terry's credits include all the Python incarnations, Ripping Yarns, and in more recent years, history shows such as Medieval Lives and Barbarians. In addition, he has written children's stories, such as Nicobobinus and Fantastic Stories.
Terry has been married to Alison Telfer since 1970, and they have two children (Sally, b. 1974 and Bill, b. 1976).
