CT Special Forces 2: Back in the Trenches (GameBoy Advance)

(Also known as "CT Special Forces 2: Back to Hell") Intelligence agencies are mentioning an increase in terrorist activity in every nook and cranny of the planet. The secret services are in a decidedly uncomfortable spot, given the latest resounding failures. The CT Special Forces unit will once again be called upon to diffuse a series of conflicts that have democracies around the globe highly concerned. Armed with high-tech weaponry and cutting-edge equipment, you'll need to thwart the plans of terrorist groups and ensure peace in several regions of the world. The combat support offered by two helicopters will be far from superfluous. The terrorist threat is greater than it ever was in the past. [Hip Games]

Critic Reviews

90 GBA Central
This is one of the most entertaining GBA games I have had the pleasure to play this year. With improved visuals, gameplay and mode variety, there is very little to flaw this excellent action title with.
87 Nintendo Insider
With a variety of gameplay in the single-player mode, improved and even longer than the first title, C.T. Special Forces 2 is just the right mix of action for handheld gamers.
83 Cinescape
Difficulty level aside, this is an excellent game that fans of shooters should not pass up.
80 Pocket Games
Exactly what a sequel should be - the original done bigger and better. [Summer 2004, p.36]
80 GameZone
Overflows with action and there’s a nice diversity within the game’s levels that makes this sequel superior to the original.
78 Nintendo Power
A sharp action title with great control and lots of surprises. [Mar 2004, p.121]
78 GameSpot
Both a very good side-scrolling shoot-'em-up and a spectacular follow-up to the original game, but, like so many other similar games on the GBA, it doesn't really bring anything new to the genre.
78 Nintendojo
If LSP can fix the somewhat limited maneuverability of the on-foot levels, deepen the narrative, and add even more upgrades, than Hip-Games will have an irrefutable winner on its hands that no gamer could turn down.
70 IGN
The game is significantly better than last year's original, offering an obvious set of tweaks and improvements to the overall action experience on the Game Boy Advance.
70 Cheat Code Central
There are more levels, more enemies, more vehicles, more weapons and more missions than ever before. There's no better time to join the Special Forces than right now.
60 TotalGames.net
It’s a shame that the game comes to an end so soon. There are five levels in total and while each consists of various stages, they’re fairly short, meaning it isn’t long before the final boss falls and the credits are rolling.
