Pilotwings 64 (Nintendo 64)

Soar into the wild blue yonder with this stunning flight sim/action game from Nintendo! Choose one of six aviators and tackle increasingly difficult assignments to win your wings: Beginner's Class, Class A, Class B and, finally, Pilot Class. Winning your Pilot Class wings will require you to successfully navigate 24 tests. Basic vehicles include the Hang Glider, Rocket Belt and Gyrocopter. Score well on your way to a license and you can open up four bonus games. Parachute in Sky Diving, sprout wings and fly like a bird in Birdman, and bounce high in Jumble Hopper. You can even try to hit a distant bull's eye as a human Cannonball! [Nintendo]

This game is the 'chill-out area' in the game nightclub, it is so peaceful, and gives a real buzz when you do well.
90 Electric Playground
A silky smooth wonder. The absolute freedom that can be yours in this game is unprecedented. With a large screen television and proper stereo amplification, Pilot Wings 64 truly takes us where no console game has ever gone before.
90 TotalGames.net
Simply flying around and admiring the scenery is an enjoyable enough pass-time. When you get serious with the game, it's demanding but fair, constantly pushing you further in mastering the various craft and the environment.
90 Computer and Video Games
The best part of Pilotwings 64 is exploring the four islands. You'll not believe just how huge the islands really are and, because certain elements are hidden at first, it'll take you months to see everything.
89 GameSpot
Pilotwings 64 comes close to being the most realistic experience ever offered on a home video gaming system. The thrill factor for gaming has been upped with this title.
84 Electronic Gaming Monthly
Take a self-guided tour of Little America - it's not every day you get to fly an autogyro. [Jan 2004, p.189]
82 IGN
It's a classic Nintendo game made up of simple, addictive qualities and garnished with superlative detail and graphic finesse.
80 GameShark
It's a great game that's filled with memories of what used to be considered mind-blowing. Check it out.
80 Nintendorks
This was a well designed game that was rushed a bit. Another month of development and this game could have been better than Mario (well, a month's a rough estimate).
80 Hot Games
A fun and carefree flight sim that anyone can (and everyone should) enjoy.
80 All Game Guide
One of the most fun flight simulators to date.
70 Nintendojo
A great game -- a little light on action -- but nevertheless a break-through title.
33 Game Revolution
Overall, there's not much to this game, if you can call it a game. If you're looking for a game with a point or a plot, keep looking.
