Quite simply, there are things in Tony Hawk's 2, 3 and 4 that we have adopted as extreme sports law, and the original game feels hamstrung as a result. On the bright side, it's still more satisfying than any of the slightly dull GBA interpretations thanks to Ideaworks 3D's sterling work on the engine and mechanics, and it's unquestionably the finest game in the N-Gage launch line-up.
