Critic Reviews

90 Thunderbolt
Fatal Fury Battle Archives Vol. 2 is easily the best SNK anthology currently available.
78 PSX Extreme
This compilation is even better because not only does it offer three solid fighting games, it does it at a fantastic price point of only $20.
74 Cheat Code Central
With a few new functions implemented into its old gameplay style and graphics, the Fatal Fury series is complete for PS2 owners who want the entire Neo Geo collection. For true classic fighting gamers and fans of the series, you now have the option to play online with a number of titles on one disc. For those less appreciative of fighting games of yesteryear, you may not even be interested.
72 My Gamer
Cutting to the chase, Fatal Fury Battle Archives vol. 2 is not a bad purchase by any means. At the bargain price of $20, there's a lot of fun to be had.
70 GameZone
Fighting fans will find a lot to like about the second volume of the Fatal Fury: Battle Archives compilation and the final three games are simply the best of the bunch.
70 IGN
The games are old but fun and run without any dramatic hitches. Fighting game fans shouldn't have any serious concerns when picking this one up.
70 Games Radar
Our biggest beef with Volume 2 is the lack of online play (the Japanese version offered it, but cost more). Also, the absence of any sort of bonus content feels like a glaring omission.
70 GameDaily
You'll find three excellent Real Bout Fatal Fury games here, all restored to their classic 2-D glory. There's nothing mind-blowing here, but it's far more functional than most of SNK's other compilations.
70 Destructoid
There's not a lot of variety or extra content here, but these three very solid and deep fighting games alone are well worth the asking price.
40 G4 TV
The most puzzling omission, however, is Garou: Mark of the Wolves (1999), which makes the Fatal Fury saga painfully incomplete.
