Trials of Topoq (Playstation 3)

[Downloadable Game] PLAYSTATION Eye required. You'll need quick reflexes to maneuver the rolling balls through the treacherous towers of the city of Topoq. If you're not careful, you'll send them plummeting over the edge and into oblivion. The PLAYSTATION Eye maps your image onto Topoq's soaring towers, causing your body movement to alter the tower's surfaces and send the balls in motion. Guide the balls through 30 timed courses while avoiding gargoyles and smashing cages. Can you complete the Towers of Topoq? [SCEA]

The game feels kind of flat. Although there are different cities, they all feel and look alike, there's no multiplayer of any kind, and the music is a bit repetitive, but fans of the quirky-game genre should have no qualms about buying and trying this for $4.99.

A very accessible game for all to play, and a pretty decent way to spend a few pounds and a couple of hours of your time. [Nov 2007, p.109]

Your girlfriend might like it, your mum might even like it, but with all of the excellent games coming out on all platforms over this holiday season we reckon it’s only worth a quick play through to justify to yourself why you spent the cash to buy the newest version of the EyeToy.

When the effort it takes to move your ball five feet cold trigger an aneurism, it doesn't seem worth the hassle. [Nov 2007, p.82]

Trials of Topoq is tedious, and you really need floating arms to play it. [Issue#159, p.97]

The tech might be impressive, but for long-term fun we'll take "Super Stardust" any day. [Nov 2007, p.111]
