With the addition of new settings with the charm of Circus, more robust multiplayer action – and my personal wish – an endless mode that gets progressively harder, Woody Woodpecker could be epic. As it stands, it's a great bet for kids, a kick for nostalgia junkies and for all, at $.99 for a universal build, it definitely offers some ha-ha-ha-HA-ha's!

Stemming from a successful Kickstarter campaign, the tales of George Stobbart and Paris return to our screens but lack a certain je ne sais quoi.

While Starbunker: Guardians 2 is a great looking game in many ways, it lacks a lot of the detailed design that goes into a truly memorable game. It also lacks engaging gameplay and only offers a few unique features to keep players interested.

Aside from the few nagging issues, Heroes Lore is an incredibly deep RPG experience (over 30 hours of gameplay) that will surely satisfy anyone who appreciates a good, old school RPG.

I cannot emphasize enough how overpriced Luxor HD is. $9.99 for a simple arcade-style game, no matter how well realized, is just too much to ask. I suggest waiting for the inevitable release of Zuma for the iPad.

The Shadow Sun is a bit awkward to play and needs some polishing, but look beyond that and it’s actually an incredibly competent action-RPG.

Despite the problematic controls that occasionally get in the way, Elevator Zombies is still a lot of fun. Having a bit more diversity to the buildings (i.e. special level conditions specific to each theme) would have been cool and seems like a missed opportunity, but there's still plenty of old-school goodness to appease fans of the long-dead franchise.

So, while this isn't a bad game, and I appreciate the work that went into the iOS version – the controls are a great fit for touchscreens, and hey, it's a universal app – it still feels like I've played this game before. Even if I really haven't.

Devil Shard looks and sounds wonderful, and its match-three battle mechanics are addictive. Its difficulty combined with its in-app purchases might make you grimace, however.
