As a big Solitaire fan, I found myself struggling to tear myself away from perfecting each of the 24 free holes and I'll certainly be investing in future courses that are unlocked through $0.99 in-app purchases. It's one of those rare games that makes time go speeding past. It might not take long to complete the free courses but it's hard to begrudge putting the money down for new courses, especially for the Solitaire fan.

Capturing the magic of Steve Jackson's Sorcery! novels, the game of the same name is a great addition for adventure game book fans.

It's extremely addictive, it has a great Game Center multiplayer mode, and it has moles. Yes, it's also supported by in-app purchases for more gems, but the game hands them out frequently enough for upgrades. This is a fantastic game.

Any Kairosoft App Store release should be an insta-buy for sim fans at this point, and Mega Mall Story is certainly no exception. It's well worth the meager asking price, but buyer beware: it can have a profound effect on productivity. And one's social life.

This game is truly fascinating to me: it does so much in its minimalism, comfortable to let the player learn and figure out what it offers. It's a triumph of game design. Play this.

The visuals are cute yet kind of twisted in a way not unlike a 90s Nickelodeon cartoon. Meanwhile, the music perfectly conveys the sense of fast, fun madness the game itself is going for. That's really Zombie Carnaval in a nutshell. It's fun madness, emphasis on fun.

I dare say this is the most accessible and newbie friendly Knizia iOS game yet.

It's a fantastic realization and adaptation of his original "sketch." This is an iOS game worth talking about, and very much worth owning. I'll be buying my own copy once it's released, that's for certain.

A gem of an iOS game. It's got all the pick-up-and-play trappings and super-addictiveness that a successful App Store release needs, wrapped in an incredibly tight package and sold for what I'd consider way too small a price. This is a must-own, people. Seriously.

It's just hard to come up with a list of complaints about this game, because of how well made it is. Blue Defense: Second Wave is original, intense, addictive, and most of all, fun. Fan of action games on iOS deserve to give this game a shot.

As long as you can get past the occasional instance of camera uncooperativeness, Great Little War game very much lives up to its name.

A charming and cutesy game but I'd love to see more of a mission structure to the goals. While goals do appear, it feels like some form of story might have been nice. Nonetheless, kids will love the satisfaction of watching their dragons grow and evolve.

Ultimately, Chocohero is just a little crazy. Throwing so many zany and fantastical ideas all at once makes for an experience that's ideal for casual gamers as well as family gamers.

An extremely addictive title. I've played many word puzzle games but this is by far one of the best in recent years. Its simplicity is precisely what makes it so beguiling.

Baseball Superstars 2012 is a solid game, which is proven by the 30 million downloads to-date of the entire franchise. It's a very nicely executed freemium title that offers a ton of gameplay without having to purchase in-app upgrades. Baseball fans will love it.

Fans of the Cut the Rope experience will certainly not be let down by the most recent time traveling outing. This is very much one of the cases where, “more of the same,” is perfectly acceptable. Don’t even think twice about ponying up for this sweet treat.

I am amazed at the amount of detail that has gone into developing this game.

It's just a fantastic and well-made game, pure and simple.

Cordy 2 offers plenty of in-app purchases but none other than the initial $4.99 outlay for the full game, are actually needed. Instead, they offer customization options that I found unnecessary to my enjoyment of the game. Offering plenty of charm and little reason to criticize, Cordy 2 is an utterly delightful platformer.

Flick Soccer is a ton of fun, easy to play, and easy to get lost in. This is definitely one of my new favorite iOS games.

It's a lengthy adventure that rewards intellect over firepower, and that's reason enough for me.

This is the kind of game that you can pick up and play while you're waiting in a long line or just trying to kill some time – even if it's not much more than that.

The original Azkend was a twist and eye candy, but it was pretty easy to beat. Azkend 2 goes deeper. It's still a casual game, but the difficultly level increases much more dramatically even if it's so incremental it's hard to notice.

It takes a little while to hit its stride, but once it does it'll get its hooks in and keep them there. Just like all the others.

Overall, Pixel Defenders Puzzle is a good mash-up of a match 3, strategy, and combat game. It's not what a causal gamer looking to kill a few minutes will want, but for a more dedicated person, it could be exactly what they are looking for.

The Adventures of Tintin – The Game is an extremely enjoyable game that manages to combine multiple genres, yet never feels messy. It's just a shame about the number of game crashes.

Just an absolute joy. With mechanics that are nearly perfect, and a style that is difficult to out-do, this is a game that must be checked out by anyone who likes endless runner games, or anyone who just likes to feel happy while they play. This game is just fun.

As a Zelda fan myself; it was hard to go through Sacred Odyssey at times knowing that if Zelda were on the iPhone it would be a richer experience. I don't want to take too much away from Gameloft, as they did a fine job, but Sacred Odyssey doesn't do enough to make me not long for some kind of Apple/Nintendo partnership.

Shining Force is an underappreciated classic, and while its age sometimes shows, it is a good port by Sega to iOS, and a great representation of a strategy RPG worth checking out to this day, at a fair price.

The only real issue I have with TwinGo! is that the entire first world is just far too easy.

There’s plenty of reason to return to Toy Story: Smash It! regularly and while it’s perhaps not the hardest of titles out there, it’s a heck of a lot of fun.

For being a sequel, Zenonia 2 doesn't bring a ton of new stuff to the table. Still, that's OK…because it just builds on something that was great to begin with and adds tons to it.

Zen Studios has shown that they truly are the future of the Jedi Knights, as long as players prefer flippers to lightsabers. Don’t think twice about pulling the trigger on this purchase.

From the difficulty to the combat, to even just the way the game feels like it was yanked straight out of a SNES, there is a lot to love here.

Suffice it to say, Cave has done it yet again. Bug Princess is another great shooter to add to the ol' iOS library. It's significantly cheaper than its brethren, too, so it's also bound to appeal to frugal entomophobics everywhere.

With a funny storyline, 142 rounds of 3D action set across 34 locations, bonus levels, power ups and varied gameplay controls, Banzai Rabbit is fun, challenging and nostalgically appealing. If you do one thing for Johnny, man, get this game.

Even if you're jaded on match-3 games, Linkoidz is worth playing.

If you like movies, this really is an unmissable purchase. I haven't had this much fun with a trivia game for a long time. The cutesy cats only help matters.

For a newcomer to tower defense games, Gem Keepers is the perfect place to start. For those who already love the genre, Gem Keepers is a no-brainer. Get it.

Football Manager Handheld 2012 isn't quite a revolution in soccer management but the addition of Challenge mode does go some way to encouraging that idea. It'd be nice to see some more hands on controls mid match in a future edition.

The crazy thing is that this game is really an absurd value.

The Silent Age is an absolutely fantastic adventure that fans of the genre should not miss.

For gamers seeking intense action and fantastic graphics, Trigger Fist should not be missed. It's hard to believe that this kind of experience can be had on a phone, but the evidence speaks for itself.

Activision's efforts in creating a faithful port of a hit console game a decade old was successful and should be applauded. The virtual control scheme, while not perfect, works; it just may take some players a little time to adjust to it before they're comfortable with the controls.

Gary Games and Incinerator Studios have done a great job of both creating a fantastic card game, and porting it to iOS.

Robot Unicorn Attack 2 takes everything that was great about the original and just adds more depth to it to make it a tremendous experience.

Ace Patrol flies players into turn-based aerial combat during World War I. Having a strategy for the skies is the challenge as players partake in multiple single player missions, each with unique objectives.

Has plenty of levels (with leaderboards) to keep players busy, lots of new elements are introduced regularly that build upon the basic mechanics, it looks amazing and it's just so darned cute.

Mad Acorn hasn't much depth, but it does have some really nice visuals, the great art, and inherent replay value based on desire to get better, rather than through extraneous incentives. It's a great pick-up-and-play title and solid summer casual gaming choice.

For fans of the side-scrolling shoot-em-up, Apocalypse Max delivers quite a lot in a fairly compact package. Requiring a fair amount of concentration, but never overly harsh, it wants you to be a survivor and will equip you with the appropriate weapon to do so.

I love this game. CAPCOM spent a lot of time developing it and it shows. Street Fighter IV for the iPhone/iTouch is a complete, quality port of its console counterpart that will appeal to both hardcore veterans and newcomers.

The one thing all great puzzle games share is the ability to induce players into a state where they stop thinking and are just playing. Fractal: Make Blooms Not War is one of those games and anyone looking for a cheap yet high-quality iPad puzzle game should definitely give it a look.

As a sequel it's more than solid, just download prepared for more of what you know and love, not a new experience.

This is a game that is both punishing and rewarding in equal measure, though at times it feels like the balance is still being tweaked and understood.

The environments and characters in this game are beautifully animated, each with it's own personality and flair. The controls are simple and the physics are solid.

Waking Mars will be loved by fans of Metroidvania-style adventure games. Some of the backtracking can get annoying, but this is another fine title from Tiger Style Games.

If you are into "bullet hell" shooters, AirAttack is a great genre game. It's not so great that it transcends genres, but it is a solid game nonetheless.

Broken Sword: The Smoking Mirror is a fantastic game. The story feels as fresh and as entertaining as it did back in the day, and the slightly improved graphics are much appreciated. Many hours of entertaining storytelling lie ahead.

I don't like to fight my games – this isn't to say that I don't like challenge entirely, but that I like the challenge to come from the content of a game, not the interface.

One Tap Hero is an intelligent game that does what it claims, blending the genre of platform and puzzler well. Once the player gets past slight control issues there is definitely a great game to be had.

A charming tale of a boy and his dog, with some glorious visuals. Casual players might feel unsure at times what to do next, though.

Hot Springs Story isn't quite as gripping as Game Dev Story. Its subject matter being not quite as clearly enjoyable as the earlier game, plus it's really quite a serious sim, with no sign of the humor of Game Dev Story. However, in turn it's a deeper experience with more to it. This ensures that Hot Springs Story is still a great game to play, just not quite as wondrous as its predecessor.

A clever, beautiful, vibrant game that will tickle your visual-auditory fancy. Its sublime levels, decorated with rich, textured art and graphics and polished, engrossing game play will entice you into playing over and again.

The (in my opinion) over-priced card packs available through in-app purchases feel like a slap in the face, especially after already paying $5 for the game proper, but what can be bought can also be earned. And earning it, battle to battle, victory to victory, is what will keep me playing for a very long time.

The gameplay is not only intuitive and challenging but it's also engaging. The graphics are crisp, the animations are beautifully done and I can't stop humming that catchy tune in the game. Go grab a copy of Bucketz to test your reflexes and see if you can become a master of balance. I can't think of a better way to spend two dollars.

Electric Tentacle might not have that ridiculously addictive quality that something like Tiny Wings might still retain, it needs a few more persistent challenges to accomplish that, but what is there adds something original to the genre. Something that we could all do with occasionally.

With the number of tracks and the challenge of getting a gold mark on each one, it's going to take players a while to get through this game. Skyriders is definitely a fun diversion with plenty of action!

Samurai II: Vengeance visuals may impress, but the gameplay is roundly unimpressive.

Galaxy on Fire 2: HD really takes full advantage of the A5 chip and the retina display of the iPhone 4S. The graphics are clean and crisp which make for some excellent dog fights with pirates and aliens.

While Total War Battles: Shogun incorporates slightly simplified versions of tried and true strategy game mechanics, it blends them together incredibly well.

The best thing about Draw Something is that it's amazingly entertaining.

It's increasingly possible to get a big console-style game on mobile, but the inherent drawback of touchscreen controls and the lack of tactility are really the only aspects that hold N.O.V.A. 3 back. Those who are prepared to look past them are the ones that will have a great time with this.

A great new release from the Angry Birds stable. It adds plenty of great new features to entice players in, both old and new alike. Fans in particular will be delighted, even if they will wonder where all their free time has vanished to.

It's a must-have for strategy fans, no question.

Monster Dash is not the pinnacle of the endless platformer genre, but its action-based take does enough right to be an entertaining game, and a worthy purchase for those looking for more endless platformers for their iOS device.

Hybrid games can be tough to pull off, but Foursaken Media makes it look easy. Not only is Block Fortress great, but it does a wonderful job of catering to all three of its core game types. Fans of just about anything should definitely think about taking the $1.99 plunge.

The music, art, and depth of gameplay are all fantastic, but I just never got all that comfortable with it.

With so much going for it though, it's hard not to urge gamers to pick up their sword and fight for the crown. Or at least pick up their mobile device. That's probably safer.

Be sure to take the time to get to know Ubisoft's latest entry in the Might & Magic franchise: a deeply satisfying take on the card battler gaming genre.

Silverfish is a fantastic example of what you can do to take well-known genre influences and mix them up to make a fresh and addictive game.

Bad Piggies is pretty darned flawless, when I think about it.

Fans of the other games in the Radiangames catalog, even those who have only checked out Super Crossfire, will enjoy Inferno+, especially with its upgrade system. It's not the best dual-stick shooter out there, but it's still plenty of fun.

A unique puzzle/memory game that turns players into taxonomists. Strange paper creatures waddle across the screen and must be properly categorized before they escape off the page.

If I had to sum up the game, I'd class it as a good fun-filled time passer, my only little caveat being that because of the true repetitive nature of the puzzles within Cogs, the game didn't seem to have as much replay value as I probably was expecting from it, or would have liked it to of had.

With Polara, players are also arguably getting two games in one. After completing each stage, a separate goal emerges: the collection of the titular letters and a special medallion. The position of each letter cleverly rewires the way players are required to jump, switch colors, and evaluate timing. Meanwhile, perfectionists will be enticed by the pursuit of "flawless," no-death runs. All told, Hope This Works shows that ingenuity in design trumps superfluous achievements every time.

Besides this odd control jumpiness, Bad Hotel is a delicious treat for eyes, ears, and intellect. It's a delightful way to spend some time in a nice comfy chair, iPad in hand, with perhaps a glass of wine and fuzzy slippers upon the feet.

In short, this is a very well-designed game and one of those perfect "pick up and play" apps that is sure to keep casual gamers interested for a while. It's free (at least the first four levels are) so you have no excuse. It's almost launch time.

Imangi has once again proven why they are one of the best independent developers on the iOS platform.

With a deep and involving story that goes on for a fair while (depending on the player's ability to solve puzzles or their susceptibility to searching for a walkthrough), 1112 Episode 3 is a great purchase.

This physics puzzler is great to look at, and fun to play, if not a bit challenging. But, it wouldn't be much of a puzzler if it didn't puzzle you, I suppose.

Whether it was the very basic visual style or the fact that just playing a level twice can alleviate much of the need for any real skill, something didn't quite gel for me.

The slightly weird PC strategy game has crept onto the iPad and made itself right at home.

A great title to play if you're a fan of Lunar Landing style games. It offers a perfectly pitched difficulty curve and its developers haven't forgotten to consider presentational aspects, as demonstrated by the sterling comic book and soundtrack.

Robokill provides an enjoyable experience if played in small doses.

I think it's an excellent title that has a lot to offer fans of the original Wii version. Like the games in the genre, the gameplay can be repetitive but I think there is enough challenge to keep players busy and wanting more.

Delivers smart and stylish match three gameplay that will keep you occupied and satisfied for hours.

The strategic planning of moves requires more forethought than is initially apparent. I wouldn't be at all surprised for this to become the next big iOS hit (especially if they lower the price for unlimited turns into realistic territory); Spry Fox could well have a winner on their hands here.

Anodia does everything just right. It sticks to a tried and tested formula but adds a much needed dose of originality to make it a great game in its own right.

THE aMAZEing Labyrinth is a great puzzle game, enticing the player in with a few gentle levels before hooking them entirely. Well worth a play.

For the price Asphalt 7 is one of the best arcade racers on iOS. What it lacks in originality it makes up for in polish. Just don't expect a full console experience; it still feels like a mobile game.

Uplink was a fantastic breath of fresh air 11 years ago and it still feels just as exceptional now. It's the kind of experience that reminds you why gaming can be so rewarding.

Major Magnet is a passionate project, one that tries to honor its forefathers while existing as its own original work. And it succeeds tremendously.

When it comes right down to it Dungeon Hunter 2 is too bland, too predictable and too expensive to recommend.

I love The Blockheads for much the same reason I love baseball, I suppose. I can watch baseball while doing something else, and The Blockheads is a perfect game to fill my time. Check it out.

Is it a perfect game? No. Is it a heck of a lot of fun? Yeah. It's certainly one of the better zombie games in the App Store, and a more enjoyable zombie shooter than any of Capcom's attempts to port RE to the device.

A well done game and it really shows off its polished visuals and mechanics.

There is something habit forming about Bee Leader. I'm not sure if it's the aesthetic or the gameplay that's doing it, but something keeps me playing until my fingers are sore. It's not quite a must-have, but definitely a great choice for a casual gamer's collection.

Feast or Famine is a non-endless runner with a great sense of style and personality. Every now and then Glyph may not react as intended but that doesn’t undo all the fun that’s been had up until that point. Runner fans: stoke those cooking fires.

While Slice It may not have the most "whiz bang" excitement in the App Store, its simple premise is executed perfectly.

Slingshot Racing is a ton of fun. The quick sessions make it perfect for pick-up-and-play gameplay, the grappling hook mechanic is very easy to learn, yet difficult to truly master. Snowbolt and Crescent Moon have absolutely nailed this game.

While I do wish the game was more difficult, it's just too fun to put down, which can only mean good things.

This is a fantastic twin-stick shooter, both in its free and paid versions, and if you have any kind of love for the genre then it cannot be resisted.

If you've been looking to get into the series but haven't tried it yet, or loved Super QuickHook's endless modes, this is a perfect pickup.

If you are a fan of rhythm games and find yourself liking scary looking fur-balls, then Thumpies is the game for you.

Aside from these minor gripes, Tower Defense: Lost Earth is a fantastic game. One that genre lovers and armchair generals should not miss.

It's incredibly well designed, addictive and finding new effective spell combinations never gets old.

Even as nothing more than a gimped-but-free distraction, Kard Combat is still a lot of fun.

Even with this rather large laundry list (I don't have enough space to list them all) of bite-sized problems, I'd still recommend Terra Noctis wholeheartedly to anyone who loved to jump on things. It's beautiful to look at and listen to, but it's also just plain fun to play.

Despite the token system limiting gameplay, Scramble with Friends is in a three-way tie between Words with Friends and Crosswords as my favorite iOS word game.

Super Bunny Breakout is worth checking out for those who like the Breakout formula, and want to see it tweaked with, and featuring bunnies instead of lifeless spheres. Good luck figuring out that energy mechanic, though, it's either terrible or benign!

The RPG elements are light enough that they aren't overwhelming, yet compelling enough to be engaging. It's a definite must-play for fans of action-RPGs, and for those looking for a twist on the Super Crate Box formula.

Being somewhat of a casual gaming connoisseur, I can't recommend Ninjatown enough. The challenge of the game along with the quick play time make this one perfect for a quick gaming session.

While Collision Effect is fun and engaging in Action mode, its Puzzle sibling feels somewhat incomplete, as if it were thrown in as an afterthought to add depth to the game.

Solid visuals and quality controls collide in this awe inspiring battle for iOS supremacy.

If you need a quick puzzle fix that is great for the lulls in your day, this fits the bill.

With the expection of the hiding place problem, Dynamite Jack is a top notch game. Quality games like this don't pop up every day. This is one of those games I would recommend for all iPad owners, not just fans of this type of game.

Even with the most critical of eyes, Need for Speed: Most Wanted is still easily one of the best racers on the platform to date. You would have to be crazy not to take this hot rod out for a nice long joy ride. EA and Firemonkey have once again re-defined what it means to play racing games on iOS.

At the end of the day, Asphalt 5 does not presume to be anything else than what it is, and that's a flat-out arcade racer. It succeeds in its mission, and does so without taking itself too seriously, making it both charming and fun.

Gamers help a janitor rescue monsters who have escaped in a Russian research lab by using his personal teleporter to make it through 80 mind-bending levels.

Aside from being just plain fun, there's also plenty of reason to revisit Bring Me Sandwiches!! once it's in the bag.

The difficulty level is a little inconsistent with some puzzles proving much harder than others despite being earlier in the game. Other than that, however, The Hacker is a great idea that stands out from the crowd. Mini games alone might have made for a mediocre title but with the backing of an original interface and storyline, The Hacker is well worth a look at a bargain price.

There's something sweet about seeing a simple concept executed well. The Incident is a great game that offers up a fun time with well-crafted retro sensibilities, and it's sure to appeal to a lot of iOS gamers. Download it today.

The app seems perfect in every way, and hats off to Codito for pulling it off.

The game has a great charm to it, with plenty of humor to boot.

A beautiful situational simulation title with vibrant visuals. While I thought the game could benefit from more features, including the ability to create your own in-game characters and overall gameplay length to be a little short coming in at just under 24 hours, I found that the attention to detail within the game, coupled with a great storyline and in-game control mechanics made Artist Colony an enjoyable experience.

With Foodies, the developers have created one of those 'must-have' iPhone games – a time-killer that deserves to be sat amongst the App Store's top games, able to trade punches with the likes of Angry Birds or Cut the Rope in both production aspects and sheer enjoyability.

When a game looks this beautiful, there is an impulse to just purchase it immediately, but when there is solid gameplay to back it up, the purchase is all the more appealing.

It's just really freaking addicting and clever.

Having played it on both iPhone and iPad, the game never falters to draw me in and understandably so. Can I go back to playing it now? Good.

The title is heavily inspired by Blizzard's World of Warcraft, but its portability adds a dose of novel freshness to a familiar outing.

The visuals are very well done, making it easy to track the action even on small iPhone and iPod screens.

The combat is fun, the graphics are excellent, and from a technical perspective it's a phenomenal feat.

Easily one of the better-designed platformers I've played on iPhone. And considering it's only a dollar, it's hard not to be impressed.

While there are a few bumps along the way, Polymer is an extremely impressive game even when forgetting that it's from a first-time developer.

It’s hard for me to say anything too bad about the game, nor anything that’s especially effusive in praise. Syder Arcade just exists as it is, a retro-styled shoot ’em up that wants to let players destroy waves of enemies, unleash special abilities, and just have some mindless fun for a little while. That’s perfectly fine! It’s not a game of the year candidate, but it’s something those who download it and check it out will enjoy.

The best drawing game on the App Store gets a sequel, and it's even better than ever.

Beautiful, fun and innovative.

Personally, I think it's worth the price for anyone looking for a good RPG to have on-the-go – assuming they aren't already loaded down with iOS role-playing games, that is.

It's charming and cute. Most importantly, it's an absolute bargain for a game that has the addictive qualities of iPhone greats such as Angry Birds or Flight Control.

Heroes and Castles is quite possibly Foursaken Media's most refined strategy title yet, and I personally find it to be their most entertaining. It's still a little rough around the edges in a few places but it's full of enough upgrades and unlocks (not to mention fun) to keep fans of the genre, or the developer, busy for quite a while.

One of my favorite games this year – even after completing all 100 of the levels (with a 5th world with a brand new gameplay mechanic coming soon), I still found myself going back to try and improve my scores.

Without an "endless" mode or some other such business that we've all grown accustomed to in our iOS games, I worry that some players will simply expect to beat To-Fu: The Trials of Chi in a matter of days (or several consecutive hours) and move on to the next title. While this is certainly a possiblity, as it is with most popular App Store offerings, it's still bound to be an enjoyable experience.

Really, the only thing about Battleloot Adventure that might deter the loot-hungry iOS gamer is the 600+ megabytes it occupies. Aside from that it's cheap, addictive, nice to look at, and quite a bit of fun.

Tiny Troopers 2: Special Ops offers tiny warfare with a large amount of fun throughout 21 missions, and also includes unlockable zombie survival maps with high score leaderboards.

As someone who grew up idolizing fictitious cartoon characters each weekend, such as the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, I was instantly drawn to Seal Force. It plays to that particular audience incredibly well. However, it's more than just a nostalgia trip. It's also a clever mash-up of two popular iOS genres that, surprise surprise, work quite well together.

A fast-paced precision platformer that gamers won’t be able to put down for long.

This cleverly packaged collection of puzzles will have even the most determined gamers scratching their noggins.

The multiplayer is the real star here: there's a whole bevy of modes to check out with players form around the world.

Little Inferno won't take long to reach its inevitable conclusion provided players burn all the things at a steady pace. However it's the puzzle-like combos and the funny, sometimes freaky, reactions objects have to fire that should keep them coming back even after unlocking the final catalog.

While Time Surfer will not win any awards for uniqueness, it is a great example of how a fun idea can be iterated upon by blending in concepts from other games to create something that feels at least somewhat new.

All in all, even with the graphical snafus, I think that Miami Vindication will please just about anyone who wants to play a good GTA-like game. With its huge city, impressive voice acting, and competent controls, I'd say that Miami Vindication is a big win for Gameloft.

Air Penguin is the perfect example of a quality casual game. It's simple yet gives you reason to keep playing. Plus it's fun to drop into for five minutes at a time or for much longer too.

If you liked Riven the first time around, or loved Myst and never played Riven, you'll really enjoy this blast from the past.

The graphics, style, and sound effects are all superb, leaning towards a comic book style rather than a realistic football one.

Hanging With Friends is a neat twist on an old classic; Zynga With Friends did a great job at making the classic hangman game work in a competitive sense with asynchronous multiplayer.

Pinball Arcade is an impressive title, and one that is bound to please pinball fans. It's a shame a couple of issues get in the way.

The game was a flawless execution of a simple concept that is hard to put down. I played the game long after I felt comfortable writing this review. It has the same addiciting quality as Temple Run, but with gameplay that feels a bit more skillful.

Don't think twice about the rather hefty $4.99 price tag, because frankly, it is more than justified for any enthusiast. Think of all the quarters it will be saving!

While it seems this might get old after a while, played in short bursts, it actually has a lot of legs, with each play earning coins to unlock different music and themes.

Delivers a fun, challenging experience for anyone with an iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad. While the game can be played for free online via a flash version, the added tilt controls and portability of the iOS version makes it worth the buck it costs to own.

Everybody can enjoy it, while strategy fans can still get their fix.

Major Mayhem is yet another addictive time gobbler to add to [adult swim]'s rapidly growing battalion of quirky, tongue-in-cheek titles. Almost anything under their aegis is a safe purchase and the Major is definitely no exception.

A fantastic platformer and a stellar iOS game. The controls are fluid, the visuals are wonderful and the levels all beg to be played over-and-over again in order to nab a full trio of stars (one each for completion, speed and gear collecting).

While it is very familiar, League of Evil 2 is still a ton of fun. Plus, it's pretty much worth buying just because it's a universal app with remote control support and cloud saving. Multiple device owners like myself will absolutely love this game.

While it does offer more than any other game in the genre, it doesn't do anything that is so special that you will change your opinion.

What you would expect from God of War clone on the iPhone. It's really pretty but is fairly soulless and leaves a bit to be desired.

It's charming throughout and very easy to get into, while not sacrificing depth too much. Here's hoping for an update or two offering Game Center support, new items and other delights.

The core gameplay of Par Out Golf is quite fun and offers more challenge than you might actually expect. The cartoon inspired visuals also compound the charm tenfold, while the game is true to the sport by instilling elation one moment, followed soon thereafter by the burning hatred and frustration of a thousand suns.

Sprinkle makes fighting fire with physics (and water, of course) a heck of a lot of fun.

It's a little cumbersome placing one finger on a shape to move the machine along the riverbed, blocking the player from seeing what's going on but, other than that, Eager Beaver ticks all the relevant physics puzzler boxes. It's not quite as interesting a concept as we usually see from Chillingo but the cute appearance of Edgar goes a long way to rectifying things.

What it may lack in bells and whistles it makes up for in terms of sheer playability.

Even with it's failings, Plight of the Zombie is a great path-drawing puzzle game. The various zombie and enemy types, as well as the unique challenges they provide, make it feel unexpectedly fresh despite all the decay.

The graphics are excellent and the sound effects are good, too.

Ultimately, Heads Up! Hot Dogs wanes under the weight of longer play sessions, but then, it knows that. Like the franks falling from the sky, this one's good for a few delicious bites now and then to satisfy a craving…for fun.

I cannot stress enough just how much fun I’ve been having with LEGO Batman: DC Super Heroes. It’s the LEGO game I’ve apparently always wanted: perfectly sized levels, tons of hidden stuff, and even more unlockables (80 playable characters!). It’s time to pick up some wonderful toys.

If you are a fan of high-energy, chaotic action games, Knight's Rush will certainly tickle your funny bone. With its three game modes, it'll keep you hacking away at baddies for a good long while.

The gameplay is really fun and innovative, the levels are challenging, the graphics are a pleasure to look at, and the online tournaments are a killer feature. It's well worth the price and any puzzle addict should be sure to download it.

Tiny Troopers is fun in small doses and has the makings of a pretty cool casual war game. It's just that the soldiers' movements aren't entirely accurate. An issue that doesn't go well with permadeath. It's certainly entertaining in its own way, but requires a lot of patience to get anywhere.

Even with the graphics as bad as they were, the gameplay is such that the package is a must play experience.

Though Fast Five the Movie: Official Game is supposed to be a compliment to the film, it honestly feels like another attempt to milk Gameloft's existing customer base.

It's a somewhat no-frills, yet highly polished package.

With fast paced gameplay and an impressive arsenal of weapons, Zombie Shock has everything that you would ever need from a zombie game.

The Lost City doesn't overstay its welcome, doesn't bore with any complicated story, and doesn't cost too much coin to acquire. It may not be the best game to hit iOS this year but it will easily be one of the most recommendable. Let's hope Fire Maple endeavors further into this genre, they have a knack for it.

Fans of Minter's work will be happy with this game, and those that just love arcade shooters will find plenty of endearing elements. Caprichoso for life!

Those after a challenging word game will greatly appreciate Spellwood. It doesn't hand victory over to the player by any means, especially in the early stages when there is limited equipment, but it's all the better for it.

At its core, Man in a Maze is a family friendly puzzler that's well designed with smooth controls, humorous graphics and varied gameplay. Aside from adding iCade support, there wasn't anything that I didn't like about it. Whether players have a twisted sense of humor, love mazes or can't get enough game shows packed into their day, it's definitely a keeper and highly recommendable.

It's one of a very small handful of games that I would recommend wholeheartedly. I've yet to see such an impressive amalgamation of war gaming and the RPG genre, even after all these years. Just don't expect an easy ride.

Those that enjoy their gaming in extremely small doses will find plenty to love, they just can’t expect to play for hours on end without attempts to pry into their wallet.

Virtual City is well worth a purchase. It's a much friendlier version of SimCity and one that feels more enjoyable and less spreadsheet management- ish than other behemoth city management games.

It's nothing extraordinarily new, and if you're sick to death of match-3's or already have one, this game isn't for you. If, however, you're a fan of the genre and need one for your iPhone or iPad, Babo Crash is a good choice.

While prolonged play gets repetitious, it's perfect for a few minutes of undead fun.

Touch Pets: Dogs is hands-down the best pet sim the App Store has yet seen, and it adds one more quality title to ngmoco's impressive catalog. Whether or not you're willing to invest the time and money in a virtual pet is another matter entirely.

This one probably comes more recommended for those who want a challenge provided by a meta-game as opposed to just the game itself. Otherwise, this is a fun 16-bit romp that fits well on the touchscreen.

I didn't really mind the lack of challenge. The general experience is enjoyable and made all the better by the cute one liners that Spongebob exclaims. For kids, they will love this Spongebob infused game. For adults, they'll enjoy the ride to the end. It's so gleefully happy, it's hard not to smile.
