Although Starfront is nothing new in terms of gameplay, it's certainly the best RTS the iPhone has ever seen and takes the strategy genre to a new height.- Posted Mar 15, 2011

Broken Sword 2 will last you hours, having all the playability of a full-priced PC game. It is the kind of game that could convert people who wouldn't look twice at adventure games, and is easily one of my most highly recommended titles on the platform.- Posted Mar 17, 2011

Real Racing 2 feels like it shouldn't be able to fit in a device so small. Somehow Firemint have squashed every last feature they could think of into the tiny iPhone.- Posted Mar 17, 2011

Coin Drop is our new favourite action puzzle game and I can see this game taking pride of place on my iPad for a long time to come. It has just the right level of giddy day-glo presentation, coupled with a great physics engine and addictive gameplay.- Posted Apr 28, 2011

What Sega have done here is amazing. They've certainly created the best kart racer on the App Store by far and Sonic & Sega All-stars Racing is truly a fitting gift for Sonic's 20th Anniversary.- Posted Jun 24, 2011

Order & Chaos Online is an impressive and immersive MMO that Gameloft have somehow managed to squeeze on to a tiny iOS device. Its popularity is testament to the game's ability to bring a fully fledged online adventure successfully on to Apple's platform.- Posted Jun 27, 2011

I can safely say that this is the best shooter yet on iOS and if you're in any way a fan of the FPS genre, particularly if you own an iPhone 4S or iPad 2, this should be on your list of Apps to own.- Posted Nov 7, 2011

Tiny Towers is a microsystem in your pocket. It will take over your waking life as you worry about restocking items and whether your tower needs another foodstall or a car showroom, it may even have you waking in the middle of the night. But it does all this in such a cute way that you'll forgive it every time.- Posted Nov 26, 2011

So Infinity Blade II isn't exactly a major overhaul of the original game, but it doesn't need to be. The additional elements and added strategy improve an already impressive title and yet again, those amazing vistas and detailed enemies manage to impress.- Posted Dec 8, 2011

Scribblenauts on iOS is as good, if not better than, the DS releases . With a low cost and some of the most flexible gameplay ever seen on Apple's devices, it's easy to recommend to both young and old gamers.- Posted Jan 13, 2012

The whole game just feels like a perfect fit on iPad, particularly if you're sitting down looking down at the screen. With odd humour that hits you when you least expect it and a daunting sense of falling captured perfectly thanks to the interface and the graphics, AaaaaAAaaaAAAaaAAAAaAAAAA!!! (Force = Mass x Acceleration) is a perfect match for Apple's tablet.- Posted Mar 7, 2012

It is a title best approached as a pastime instead of thought of as a game, and for this reason it is impossible to score. However, if you know at least one other person who owns a device capable of playing this game, and the odds are that you do, then you should join in the fun as soon as you possibly can.- Posted Apr 2, 2012

Hot Springs Resort is another triumph of balance between the hard nosed world of number crunching and cute character management. The beautifully detailed characters and scenery hide a devious game engine that will see you playing long into the night.- Posted Mar 15, 2011

In re-creating a classic game, Vivid Studios have triumphed with this iOS version. Every ounce of fun has been successfully transplanted from the Amiga classic. But more than that, they've added to it without diluting what made the original so good.- Posted Mar 15, 2011

It feels as if it's a step beyond Espgaluda II in terms of the depth the game provides, making it the easier of the two to get into if you're new to the genre or just can't take the massive enemy reign of fire that constantly bombards you.- Posted Mar 15, 2011

There will still be those who complain that this game is a Zelda Rip-off and that it has no new ideas, but to me Gameloft have created a perfect new adventure based loosely on the ideas of a much loved franchise. Sacred Odyssey: Rise of Ayden is a treasure among a heap of average adventure games, a mix of great characters, fascinating story and gorgeous graphics.- Posted Mar 15, 2011

Origin8 have packed so many features in to this game and have really pushed for a more strategic approach that, even with the bulging numbers of Tower Defence games on the App Store, Sentinel 3 still stands tall as the leader of the pack.- Posted Mar 15, 2011

The fact that this is a completely original story which happens to tie in to the second game helps to make it feel far more than just a rehash of a console game on the iPhone. Thanks to the graphical flare, a fantastic control scheme and atmospheric sound, the sum of Ironmonkey's efforts come together to create a stand-out survival horror experience second to none on iOS.- Posted Mar 17, 2011

Delivers in spades. It reminds me of a more constrained Shadow of the Colossus, which is quite the compliment. For anyone who owns a 3rd or 4th generation iOS device this is an essential purchase.- Posted Mar 17, 2011
