  1. More "Heat" than "Eraserhead". It's all good. Just don't be disappointed if it's not what you were expecting. Try to enjoy this for what it is.
  2. CQ
While I personally love this movie, I’m not sure how well received a film about a frustrated filmmaker seeking creative solutions in his personal life and work life is going to be to the average moviegoer.
  3. The performances from the film's three stars are all top-notch.
  4. As these characters all move from isolated loners to relying on each other, the film never pounds its point in -- even the big set pieces are slightly askance, just giving more insight into the characters without preaching.

The Pixies are back together, the music is as unbelievable as ever and what more could you ask for?

The film is, like "Super Size Me," extremely entertaining and, again, Spurlock shows that if it's one thing he knows how to do well, it's the first 10 minutes of a documentary.

Estes and his team did an admirable job in bringing together a team of youthful actors who carry the weight of a fairly weighty movie.

Undeniably fun for the kids, though it requires a camp sensibility in its adult audience. But in doing so, it is a warm return to the live-action Disney movies of yesteryear.

Complaints? Sure, I had a few: The liberal use of insta-sweat whenever the character in question is experiencing tension, Harvey's aforementioned accent, one over-used shot composition that places the action at a great distance with a giant-headed supporting actor in the extreme foreground. [Re-release]
  5. All the household changes give the film an episodic quality that leads to a certain start-and-stop dramatic momentum. But fresh face Lohman holds the film together emotionally, more than matching up to the bigger name stars that turn up in supporting roles.
